(DISCALIMER:I do not poke fun or make lite of anyone who suffers from any mental disorder. I only refer to this for comical relief.)
With that established... I was attempting to push Derek (my 2 year old) on a swing last night I am starting to think he has multiple personalities with a sprinkle of bipolar. The only other explanation I have is that he is 2 and realllly good at it.

(Scene) It's a lovely warm, summer evening and Derek wants me to push him on our outdoor swing set. Naked of course, but that goes without saying.
So I walk hand in hand with my little blue eyed angel. I help him onto the teeter totter when he flips the switch and LOOSES it!
Holy Mother of all thing bad in the world! This kid starts screaming and crying because I stand behind him to push, so I move to the front and push him. BAD idea! He goes all postal on me that I need to push him from behind, so to the back I go.
After less than 30 seconds my sweet little boy who moments ago is holding my hand and smiling is now melting down yelling.
As a smart woman, I deal with him like I would a terrorist with a gun. I put my hands in the air and slowly back away..No quick movements! And in my calmest, most mommy like voice I whisper softly, "Derek, what would you like Mommy to do?"
And that's when he replies "I want to swing...I want to go inside...don't push me...push me over here...go away..come back!" (Lightbulb!)
It's not me who is the problem and it's not Derek..it's the multiple personalities! It's like he's fighting with himself but at me! Of course, as any parent really knows, poor little guy is beyond tired and within about 3 minutes is in my arms falling fast asleep. I actually thought to myself, "Wow, he fell asleep so fast, poor little man." And for a brief glimmer or a moment the thought pops into my head, "did he fall asleep too fast? Crap! What is he is narcoleptic too?!
